Changes & Updates from TH3 LOT
Staff transitions, operational challenges during monsoon, menu expansion plans, and kitchen renovations.
We want to share some important updates about what has been happening behind the scenes at TH3 LOT.
Staff Transitions
After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue paid staff positions. Moving forward, TH3 LOT will operate entirely with volunteers. This decision aligns with our core value that every rupee donated should go directly toward feeding people. Until we secure more monthly sponsors, we are reducing our cooking schedule to 2-3 days per week.
Monsoon Challenges
The monsoon season in Mayapur brings its own set of difficulties. We have been dealing with pest infestations in our storage areas and significant damage to our firewood supply. Cooking over open fire with wet wood is no small feat, but the team has persevered through it all.
Menu Expansion
We are excited to expand beyond our staple kitchari. New additions to the menu include halava, biryani, and pakoras. Variety keeps our recipients excited and allows us to use a wider range of locally sourced ingredients.
Kitchen Renovation
The kitchen renovation is now complete. The improved space gives us better workflow, improved hygiene standards, and capacity to cook larger quantities when needed.
Looking Ahead
Our vision continues to grow. We are exploring opportunities to integrate bhakti philosophy education into our distribution visits and to facilitate Mayapur visits for supporters who want to see the operation firsthand. Stay tuned for more updates.
